1.5 Tons of Garbage Collected from Panggang Island

As many as 120 joint personnel have collected an estimated 15 tons of garbage, consisting mostly of logs, grass, plastic, and cans. Those garbage were transported from a cleanup action at Tanjong Timur RPTRA, Panggang Island, North Seribu Islands, Seribu Islands.

 It is done once a week in different locations

Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Fakih Burhanuddin expressed the 120 joint personnel involved were from ASN, PPSU, Water Resources (SDA) Task Force, Satpol PP, PJLP, RPTRA caretakers, Jumantik cadres, RT/RW administrators, and locals.

"It is done once a week in different locations. This time our focus is in RPTRA area," he said, Friday (5/19).

26 Tons of Waste Transported from Tidung Island

He explained the garbage transported was then taken to Panggang Island Waste Disposal Site (TPS).

It was carried out in accordance with the mandate of Seribu Islands Regency Administration which asked each sub-district to intensify cleanup action in their respective areas.

"Hopefully, it can make the island cleaner and more beautiful," he hoped.

Tanjong Timur RPTRA Caretaker, Soleha explained it was also being done as a preparation for the Gebyar RPTRA competition throughout Jakarta Province on the upcoming May 29, 2023. The areas that are the cleaning points in this action were the reading room, playroom, and others.

"Besides cleaning, we also beautify the RPTRA to make it look clean and tidy," he closed.
